U.S. Lawns Annual Conference 2010 is hosted in Orlando, FL
Orlando, FL - The 2010 U.S. Lawns Annual Conference was hosted at the Hilton Orlando November 11- 13, 2010 and was driven by the theme “GAME ON!”
At Thursday night’s Welcome Cocktail Reception, entertainment by comedian/magician Erick Olson kicked off the three-day conference. Friday morning the general session was sparked by U.S. Lawns President Ken Hutcheson, who addressed the crowd of over 200 attendees with an overview of the past year’s performance, followed by announcing that in 2011 U.S. Lawns will celebrate its 25th year anniversary. Keynote Speaker Brian Holloway, five-time NFL All-Pro and team captain of the 1985 New England Patriots AFC Championship team, energized the audience with his passion to win. His message “wait for nothing” was as direct as it was powerful. His real world experiences were relevant to everyone in the conference hall.
At the Saturday general session, Bryan Flanagan, Director of Corporate Training for Ziglar Training Systems led a personality profiling session using DISC, enlightening franchisees about themselves and others. This was followed by his breakout session “Developing Bench Strength”, which focused on using DISC and other personality tools for recruiting, developing and communicating with others. Partnering with Bryan was Bob Alexander who led a session “Building Your Team”, focusing on understanding your management style and establishing rapport.
The Saturday night Awards Banquet was filled with those franchisees honored for their dedication to the success of U.S. Lawns and for support of their communities. The highlight of the awards night is announcing the inductee into the U.S. Lawns Hall Of Fame, and this year there were two – Shawn Bone of Dayton, Ohio and Alan Swinburne of Haines City, Florida. Alan lost his battle with cancer earlier in the year, and in addition to his entrance into the Hall Of Fame, U.S. Lawns renamed the “Rising Star” award to the “Alan Swinburne Rising Star Award” in his honor.
