U.S. Lawns Annual Conference was held in Orlando, FL November 5-8
The U.S. Lawns Annual Conference was held in Orlando, Florida from Friday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Marriott World Center. The executive team of the U.S. Lawns home office in Orlando, Florida organized the annual conference. Franchisees from across the nation were in attendance to share ideas and participate in interactive learning sessions, workshops and panel discussions.
The entertainment for Friday night’s Welcome Reception was hypnotist Erik Kand, who provided a humorous start to the weekend’s events.
The keynote speaker for the Friday and Saturday general sessions was Krish Dhanam, author, Vice President of Training for Zig Ziglar Training Worldwide and Director of International Operations for Ziglar Training Systems. Friday’s topic was “Recruiting and Retaining Customers” and Saturday’s topic was “How to Develop Excellence in Yourself and Others”Michael Norton, President of Zig Ziglar Company, led a Saturday morning break out session for the new U.S. Lawns Owner Development Program. U.S. Lawns President Ken Hutcheson led the afternoon session and announced his aggressive growth plan for U.S. Lawns for the next five years.
Kirt Williams, who serves as Corporate Continuous Improvement Manger and Lean Master for the Toro Company led a Lean Management Workshop on Saturday. Other conference sessions were conducted by industry experts and included topics such as “Investing in Your People”, designed for operations personnel, “Target Marketing”, “Building BusinessRelationships” and “Your Strategic Plan, Maximizing Your Market” and others.
Saturday night featured the Awards Dinner, which honored numerous franchisees for a variety of achievements; among them were “Good Citizens Award”, “Rookie of the Year”, “Rising Star”, “All American Award”, “Hall of Fame” and more. Also announced that evening were the new members of the U.S. Lawns Advisory Council for 2009.
