U.S. LAWNS EARNS SPOT ON ENTREPRENEUR MAGAZINE’S ANNUAL FRANCHISE 500 LIST FOR THE FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

U.S. Lawns ranks #265 in the January posting of
Entrepreneur Magazine’s coveted Annual Franchise 500 List

Orlando, FL - Adding another top accolade to their name, U.S. Lawns has once again been recognized as one of the leading franchise organizations in Entrepreneur Magazine’s annual Franchise 500 List released in January 2009. Ranking #265 this year, up from #280 in 2008, U.S. Lawns has consistently been named to the list validating their affordable and well-supported franchise opportunities.

U.S. Lawns continues to grow its franchise system with an average of two to three new offices per month. “Our consistent growth over the years proves that our affordable franchise model is successful even in a difficult economy,” said Paul Wolbert, Vice President of U.S. Lawns. “We are committed to excellence, not only in helping our franchisees build a strong and lucrative business, but in servicing our commercial property owners through each of those offices across the country.”

Garnering the prestigious listing within Entrepreneur Magazine’s annual Franchise 500 List speaks volumes for U.S. Lawns corporate commitment to their industry and their franchisees. Only franchise companies that submit full Franchise Disclosure Documents, whose information is verified by Entrepreneur Magazine and who meet the criteria of having a minimum of 10 units with at least one being a U.S.-based franchise while continuing to seek new franchisees in the U.S., can be considered for inclusion on their annual Franchise 500 List.

All companies are judged on the same criteria of objective, quantifiable measures of a franchise operation regardless of their size with the most important factors being financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the system. The number of years a company has been in business, length of time it’s been franchising, startup costs, litigation, percentage of terminations and whether the company provides financing are all key factors in the award process as well, with each eligible company receiving a cumulative score in the end. The 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become a part of the coveted Franchise 500.

“We are proud of the organization we have built and continue to look forward in our growth plan to maintain a
comprehensive training and support program for our franchisees that upholds our company theme of National Strength and Local Commitment,” said Ken Hutcheson, President of U.S. Lawns. “I believe our unwavering commitment to these efforts is the reason we have continually been recognized as a “Top Franchise” by Entrepreneur Magazine’s annual Franchise 500 List over the last five years.”
